CPS Nutrition Services Awards

Gold trophy with gold apple for 2025-2026 Nutrition Services Awards Recipients

Columbia Public Schools is proud to recognize its staff members who received the Nutrition Services Awards! These awards honor employees and kitchen teams who support students through food safety, teamwork, service, and creativity. At Columbia Public Schools, we work every day to be the best place to work and the best place to learn.

This year’s Reach for the Stars Award winners are the kitchen staff at Blue Ridge and Derby Ridge elementary schools. The Reach for the Stars Award recognizes kitchen teams that create fun and positive cafeteria experiences. Teams are honored for school spirit, student activities, creative ideas, and teamwork.

The Sharon Gibson Barksdale Award honors managers who show strong leadership, responsibility, and dedication to students. This year’s winners are Floating Kitchen Manager Brittany Whitlatch and Paxton Keeley Elementary School Kitchen Manager Bryce Guinn.

The Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Award recognizes kitchen teams with outstanding food safety and sanitation practices. This year’s HACCP Award winners are the Mill Creek Elementary School kitchen staff and the Hickman High School kitchen staff.

The Karla Adeshakin Outstanding Nutrition Services Employee Award honors employees who show excellent job performance, strong attendance, initiative, teamwork, and food safety skills. This year’s recipient is Cedary Ridge Elementary School Cook and Cashier Charla Depping.

Columbia Public Schools thanks all Nutrition Services employees for their hard work and commitment to students, staff, and families across the district.
